Trump tweeted the following this morning:
"Dems are taking forever to approve my people, including Ambassadors.They are nothing but OBSTRUCTIONISTS! Want approvals."
Maybe that's true in his fantasy bubble, but here's the reality:
There are 559 positions that require Senate confirmation. Of these:
442 have no nominee, including most Ambassador slots
15 have a person named for the spot who has not been formally nominated
63 have formal nominations
37 have been confirmed
Further, the GOP has a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate for these nominations, so there is little to nothing the Dems can do to obstruct other than to vote against them.
I'm sure the Dems would love to obstruct, but they don't have to - the Senate and POTUS are doing it for them.
