Not saying you are wrong about them having permits but this is the first I am hearing that. If you wouldn't mind, can you send me a link to the information? I am staying away from the endless repeating cycle of the same stories every freaking hour.
Cities and law enforcement keep pro/anti protesters apart all the time, even in public places. With history proving otherwise, I can't buy into the claim that they could not keep the two groups separated basically because they were in public places and in a public park.
BTW, did you get a chance to view the video I posted which clearly showed the anti-protesters were clearly the first to attack that specific group of protesters in that one short clip? In no way am I attempting to say that was the case in every confrontation, just that all those who want to absolve the anti-protesters of any responsibility should probably look a little harder at the actual evidence before doing so.
"Who shows up for a peaceful, "legal" event with bats, shields, helmets, brass knuckles, and cans of mace? " Exactly! People on BOTH sides showed up with those things, Mike. There is actual video footage as well as people who were there with those things on all sides were online telling everyone that they brought those types of things. I have intentionally limited my viewing of "news" reports since the first time I heard about what was happening Sat. and even I have seen, read, and watched video of people on all sides showing up armed.
Actually, since you assumed that only the white supremacists were the only ones who showed up with "MACE", and all the other things you listed, I am positive you did not view the video I linked in my earlier post as I pointed out that 2 seconds into the video you can clearly see a member of the anti-protesters spraying what appears to be pepper spray (or mace?) in the faces of the protesters who, at that moment, were not attacking anyone. |
