" I don't believe I said anything to suggest that I agreed with them, only that here they were..."
This is how you started off your fist reply (last sentence) that gave me the impression I had when I read your post: "I'm old enough to remember Trump's first press conference as POTUS when a reporter from Univision was removed for asking questions Trump didn't like. So what's good for the goose is good for the gander."
The rest of your post helped to add to the impression. As I said, you may not have meant for it to come across as it did.
As I said previously, it appears that we are in agreement when it comes to a great deal of how Trump and his administration act and their actions when it comes to the press.
I do believe that we may not be in agreement when it comes to how the press, at least a large majority of it, acts towards Trump, his administration, any conservative or Republican politician. Journalist ethics aren't what they used to be (on all sides); and it started way before Trump was a candidate. Members of our Free Press society need to show the same respect for their profession that they are currently demanding others show it, imo. Holding our government and elected officials accountable is expected, 96+% of the time only looking for ways to report things in an obvious attempt to "get him" is disgraceful. It is just as bad for Fox to now be little more than the mouthpiece of the current WH just as it was for MSNBC to have been the same for the previous administration. |
