I hear ya! All good points.
Since you're already off non-complex carbs, here's a reminder to all of what some complex carbs are:

1/2 to 1 lb a week is great for anyone if hey can keep it off. I may drop to just one pound per week myself. I've been 95% free of red meat, dairy and gluten for over a year now but the 5% times I cheat catch up with me in a hurry. Here's something:
From June to Dec of last year (between new knee fittings) I got to the gym an average of just twice a week. I was able to eat three meals and lose or maintain my weight.
I quit going to the gym (still out) last Dec after a hip fracture and since I am already off meat, dairy and gluten, it is much harder to kick the calories.
Instead of the gym, I use stretch bands for leg and arm exercises, do some core exercises and ride the bike.
I'm only about 6 pounds off but I can tell they will be the hardest pounds to lose and keep off.
Since the knee replacements, I've added more leg muscle which weighs more so that may be another reason. Right now, I'm really 'syncing' into losing a few and keeping them off. It's a lot like Tom Hanks flying Apollo 13 back to earth though if you remember that scene! |
