I would like to address the concern with this post. This notary was assigned a 21-page seller closing on 5/19/21 @3pm pst with scans and FedEx delivery for next-day funding. The initial fee was $90.00. Documents were uploaded at 1:39 pm pst. with only one set of documents being required to print. At 2:45 pm, I noticed that the notary had not downloaded the documents and called her to inform her that they were available. The signing location was 15 min from her location on the platform. At 4:46 pm, I sent her a message on the platform to update us with the status of closing and eta for scan backs. I did not receive a response. The platform then sent her an automated message at 5:00 pm to update us with closing status and scan backs. No response again. I contacted the signer to inquire had the closing taken place due to lack of communication from the notary. The signer stated that she changed the closing from 3 pm to 5 pm. The title company or signing service had been notified of the time change. I advised the signer to update us once she arrived. She arrived at 5:10 pm. At 6 pm I again sent a text and a message on the platform for the status of closing and documents being dropped for next day delivery. Again, no response. Completion status was finally updated at 7:21pm with scans. Per terms and conditons, if documents are not dropped for delivery next day and we have not been notified, the notary forfeits their fee. I did not forfeit the entire fee. She was initially compensated $25.00 for the scan backs. SHe did not dropped the documents until the next day with caused a funding delay and borrowers had to stay in a hotel for another night in which I paid due to me contracting the notary. Also, the sellers were delayed in using the funds for the home that they were purchasing due to the delay. When I advised her on the havoc that had been caused due to her judgement, her response and I quote was "This is seller's signing package! No need so rush for funding ! That is a complete lack of professionalism and respect for others money and time. As I informed her, I have a paper trail to back up why all decisions were made.
