Thanks. Have you been using it for a long time? One of my printers has a similar issue and from the research I've done, I think it may be one of the rollers. (That's the minor maintenance I was referring to.) You might want to try to search the HP knowledge base to see if you can find any discussion on that issue for your printer. If it turns out to be something easily fixable (or an upgrade kit), you won't have to deal with the OEM toner issue.
If you're more handy than I am, you might even be able to fix it yourself. I know some here have done that, but I have no desire to go there... Now that I'm fully vaccinated, one of these days I need to see about having someone come over to do the maintenance to get both printers back in operation...
Another option might be to find an older (before the new toner chip) refurbished printer as a replacement. Except for my very first printer (a 4-in-1), I've always bought refurbished and have had pretty good luck (being careful to only buy from top rated vendors).
