I would imagine that if your system gets used to what is basically a vegan diet, you would feel some discomfort after eating real meat.
I am unabashedly an omnivore. I loves me some nice juicy burgers or a good steak with a side salad or a baked potato, and my cholesterol levels are just fine. My feeling is that if God didn't want me to eat meat, He a) wouldn't have given me the teeth I need to tear into it, and b) wouldn't have made it taste so good.
As I said, the reason I decided to try the faux burger was a combination of curiosity and boredom. It certainly wasn't the worst thing I ever tasted, but in my opinion, it simply did NOT taste like meat so I'm kind of confused about why people like it so much. This particular brand did not contain any soy at all, so maybe that affected the taste since soy is sort of the chameleon of foods... |
