Wow... I put on gloves yesterday just to take out my own trash! My condo also uses big dumpsters - and I have to open a lid, and toss the trash bag in at a level that's above my shoulders... There's no way I was going to be touching any of that. I would have thought trash removal folks would be wearing gloves anyway. Who knows what else they're getting exposed to!
[BTW, when I picked up several days worth of mail yesterday, I left it on a paper towel on a step near my front door. I may wait another 24 hours before I bring it beyond that, let alone touch it to open. I also just heard that delivery boxes should be handled as if they're contaminated with the virus. I won't try to repeat all the recommendations for fear of leaving something out, but you all get the idea. (And I'm sure we can Google it.)
I do agree that trash haulers are among the unsung heroes!
