If you are using an HP printer with after market cartridges, you MUST immediately go into the printer settings. HP put through an update which will affect all of their printers so that when this update goes into effect on your printer, you will no longer be able to use after market cartridges. Yes, this is in direct conflict with the Court decision a couple of years ago which stated HP could not stop users from using after market cartridges. I think this recent move by HP will probably be going to court again but in the mean time, the only thing you can do is to adjust printer settings to automatically update. Best thing to do is to adjust settings so the printer never updates. This new play by HP also is affecting in jet printers as well so that settings never allow updates, automatically or not. If you already have the problem where the printer updated and after market cartridges will not work, there is a way to change that setting back to the previous setting prior to the new update. However, it is difficult to do and also a good possibility that it won't work to resolve the issue. About the only thing you can do with any HP printer that has not been affected yet is to turn off ALL updates. If perhaps you have a problem finding the screen that shuts down the updates, go online and research, "turning off HP printer updates". There are a number of postings that will help. |
