A though I missed in my previous post:
Suppose someone lied under oath. The Constitution requires that people be prosecuted in the pre-established judicial district where the offense occurred. So perhaps the perjury charges could only be brought in the county where the oath was administered.
In many states, the judicial districts either are the counties, or follow the county boundaries. I imagine there must be some procedure to follow when the exact location of an offense is not exactly known and it was on the border of two judicial districts. |
