For a change, I planned ahead and scheduled my proctored exam for my commission renewal this month (last Saturday) instead of waiting until February, which I've done in the past. Nice to have that out of the way. (I hope I don't jinx myself by assuming I passed. ) Also still working on updating & reorganizing misc. tech, etc. Thank goodness that's almost done!
As for commission renewal, here are some tidbits for those of you in CA who, like me, often get asked about what it takes to become a notary. [Or as some put it "to get my notary..." ] I calculated roughly eight separate steps that have to be done in sequence, which collectively probably take at least 3 months to complete. (I'm allowing ~six months this time.) It also costs somewhere around $400 - $550, depending on where you shop and how much E&O you choose to buy. Most will probably change their minds in a hurry...
