Seems odd to me that many of the notaries (myself included) are having problems with companies wanting to lower fees, only pay a travel/print fee if borrowers are no shows, and schedule last minute and expect the notaries to jump threw hoops, but yet we have other notaries that are such experts and never have problems. And when someone gets on this forum to "vent" or express their frustration, then they have to always have the reply of "maybe this job is not for you".
If these people have no problems then more power to them! I think that's great. Some of you obviously live in booming areas and can "demand" your own fees or not take the job. Great again!! But it's obvious that some of us are running into these problems.
As far as not waiting for someone for 20 mins then I am completely confused. On almost all of my confirmations/instructions it states plainly that if the borrower does not show 30 mins after the scheduled appt. then I will be paid travel/print fees. So to me that says that I must allow the borrower 30 mins to show. Sometimes things happens even to the borrowers, traffic could be bad, sick relative, running late from dr. appt. etc.
Maybe we should read/listen to what other notaries are saying, be understanding and a little more considerate of each other, instead of trying to be the best and superior. JMHO |
