During scheduling call, I ask many questions. Those answers will guide my quote. That is the fee that I invoice. UNLESS ... scheduler has not been correct in his/her answers. For instance, if I'm told the package size is 124 and it turns out to be 225, then I contact hiring party and let 'em know my fee has just increased to $XXX. Or, I'm told there's only 2 signers and then it turns out there's actually 4 signers -- more paperwork, more time at the table -- this also calls for a fee increase.
If the docs tell me they've allowed for a $250 notary fee and I only quoted $125, oh well. They did a good job negotiating their fee and shame on me for underbidding.
