In California, it is recommended to make an appointment for DMV services. I received my renewal notice Oct. 2019 as my driver's license was expiring Jan. 2020. The first available appointment for me in my area was Dec. 31, 2019. DMV wasn't terribly packed but I still had to wait close an hour. When I finally got to the last step (having my picture taken), I asked how long the wait was without an appointment. Clerk looked in system and said, "an hour." I advised her I'd had an appointment and still had to wait almost an hour. She just smiled.
California notaries are allowed to accept an expired ID provided it was issued within 5 years. |
