Some signers prefer to sit in THEIR cars since notaries and/or T.A.s (with a different consciousness level as it relates to the spreading virus) are choosing not to enter homes.
I DID have a friend tell me in the early part of the year that her NSA left her the docs and then remained in his car. That was in Loudoun County. Then I started hearing it on here. Although, I have signed bors and sellers at their own cars (one was at a busy, chaotic catering co. and once in a condo parking garage), I don't see how I would be possible to do this while "peeking through" windows. Again, I work with a Title office that signs in their parking lot (obviously they're the ones standing).
It IS also known that many different people hear things very differently than what is actually said or meant. We sometimes deduce, deduct and determine that something is "strange" without knowing All the facts.
To My knowledge it is Only Illegal to notarize a signature unless signer is in my presence.
As for this statement: ["It's not legal to not witness them signing the docs."] I have never seen it confirmed.
P.S. I personally control my packages so you can believe I won't be far . . . even if it means I have to find another work around. That's part of the deal these days. Bring a clip board and good, comfortable shoes, ergonomic padded mat, ear muffs/scarf, etc.! |
