VT and PA have both passed versions of the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts. The VT version states "(f)(1) If a notarial act is performed regarding a tangible record, a certificate shall be part of, or securely attached to, the record."
So as soon as they remove the staple from a multi-page document, it's highly questionable whether the document is still considered notarized. |
