Anyone receiving calls from folks that need Affidavits from their clients that they worked for them as "GIG" workers and no longer can because of COVID? Apparently their unemployment insurance ran out and the unemployment department is telling them that they need Affidavits to prove that they worked in order to get unemployment extended. I'm not real keen on doing some of these, because there is still a potential for fraud. Unfortunately, too, some of the callers are not exactly sure as to what the process is, just that they were told by unemployment department that they need an affidavit and that they can scan or fax the documents. |
