Do you think it is racist when on someone's profile they say they speak fluent Spanish or fluent German for example? What about when some say they are a Native American, or black-owned, or woman-owned, LGBTQ+ business? Isn't that a form of discrimination against all that are not? No, it's informative, right?
Looking for a job, they want only "bi-lingual" applicants, is that discrimination? You want to work at Hooters, and "women only need apply" or they want to see your photo before you interview, is that discrimination? Yes...we have to be able to properly define in context how it's being addressed.
Let's just take it down a notch and use some common sense. Just because someone is old, and yes I am old at 58, and yes some are old at 90, yes, some are old at 30...it's a perspective, does it matter? Santa Claus is old too. Everyone has a nationality or mix there of...just because it's in type doesn't make it a form of racism, it's how it is used and applied in context. jmo |
