By getting a Trojan Horse or some other malicious virus, or just a PIA virus that does no harm, you can’t get rid of it by shutting off your computer, even if you do the ALT/CONTROL/DELETE first. It’s very likely there is an .exe file that *can* mutate, say every time a virus checker finds and removes the virus, one or two more viruses are created. With some viruses, you end up in a vicious cycle loop. I lost a hard drive that way because it was silently destroying the drive and the virus was never actually wiped out. These people who write these viruses can also write something in it instructing it to ignore virus checkers. That is why it is best to research the virus and see if Microsoft or even your virus software has a “remover” for that specific virus. Make sure where you get it from, being sure it is authentic and not from a fly-by-night person, who very well could have written the virus to begin with. |
