I assume that your annual income as a nurse was about $100,000 a year plus benefits. You could spend the next 10 years as a notary signing agent and cumulatively you will never earn $100,000. This is a dead industry.

The tax situation will eventually sort itself out, perhaps with the help of an accountant (@ $300 an hour).
