Several years ago, STAPLES cinched their belts, closed a bunch of stores. I liked going there to drop of packages, but no more.
I think, just like FEDEX, it is a way to get people into the stores to buy this and that, always beverages and snacks near the cash register just like at the grocery.
I have often wondered, should I hang my shingle in the parking area/sidewalk near to the stores and catch folks as they approach, head them off at the pass and garner that business? One of our local UPS stores quit offering notary services, but sends them to his relative up the street who owns an insurance business.
Of course it is not legal in CA, but I don't think the big wigs at STAPLES and FEDEX so much care about that, as long as they can drawn in the foot traffic. |
