I hear you, Linda. FL and CA vastly different. Of course I do not know the nature of the other notaries' documents. My client, fiance of inmate, needed inmate's signature on a permission document. He is soon to be sentenced for first degree murder of a rival gang member, a pretty all-to-common event in our coastal cities. Once sentenced, court will determine best place to send him, but will be far from here. Hence, time is of the essence before he would not be accessible for a lot longer. Hence a rush fee. Not sure what other notaries charged. |
