The shoebox of invoices does not work for the vast majority of notaries to run their accounting. All I will say is that we close many many loans per month and recieve many payment inquiries. Almost all of them have already been paid...over 95%....for which we USED TO go online, print a copy of the cashed check and forward to the notary. We are not as gracious anymore.
Now we just reply with check number/date and tell them to get a new accountant....everytime.
My guess is less than 10% of the general notary population has any accounting at all....shoeboxes dont count.
Any ideas on how to help the other 90%. My accounting is over it!
