"Every one of them want to tax corporations to the hilt. But, corporations do not pay tax in the long run, they simply pass the cost of taxes on to the consumer."
Taxation is not controlling the means of production - government ownership of those means is. So I'll ask again in a different way because you obviously don't understand what socialism actually is: give me the names of those Democrats who are advocating that the government should take control of the means of production - those who are advocating that companies be nationalized? Name just one.
"Farmers have been "bailed out" for years now. Don't plant so we can drive up the price of corn, wheat, soy beans, whatever. What the hell does a NYC guy know about farming"
I know enough to know that these payouts are a social program - taxpayer money being used to benefit a specific group of individuals, what you call "socialism".
""you'll reject the Social Security and Medicare benefits you currently receive?"
Yeah, right after you do. Put YOUR MONEY where YOUR MOUTH is."
Hey, I'm not the one who objects to social programs and is labeling them as "socialist" - YOU are, or at least those that don't directly impact you. Put YOUR money where your mouth is. If you think that social programs are bad, stop accepting the benefits that you receive from them. It's that simple. I certainly don't have a problem with them, but you seem to, so why should *I* stop accepting the benefits?
"SS is the smallest part of my income. Pension and 401K mandatory withdrawals are the major source of my income, sorry if you didn't plan well while you were working."
You have absolutely no idea about my financial situation. This was just a cheap shot insult; every time I think you can't go any lower in insulting people you don't agree with, you dig a little deeper.
