I don't know what media you watch or listen to, but none of the mainstream media I follow has used any of the terms you listed - from day one they referred to it as the coronavirus or the novel coronavirus. GOP Rep. Paul Gosar was the first to publicly refer to it as the "Wuhan virus"; GOP Sen. Tom Cotton used the same name for it just a couple of days ago, and just today a CBS reporter (who is Chinese) said that an administration official referred to it in front of her as the "KungFlu".
Don't accuse the media of being hypocritical when many of them (at least in the stream media) having been calling this thing what it is supposed to be called. I know that Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, et al have come up with catchy names for it, but not one of them is a journalist. |
