... will send migrants across country and dump them in 15 degree temps, leaving them to fend for themselves?
That is exactly what TX governor Greg Abbot - or some masochist in his administration - did on Christmas Eve. Three buses with over 50 migrants - including women and small children - were dumped offon the street in front of VP Harris's house on Christmas Eve, in 15 degree weather, with no advance warning whatsoever, in what was clearly a cruel political stunt using the migrants as pawns. Volunteers had to scramble to find shelter for them, something a simple phone call or even a text message alerting the authorities that they were coming would have avoided.
What would it have cost Abbot and his cronies to alert the local authorities in advance? Nothing, other than the lack of surprise and the headlines that were generated. His anti-immigration base just eats atrocities like this up, and the crueler the better.
Abbot claims to be a Christian. I am so tired of faux Christians like him who claim to have Jesus in their hearts but do the exact opposite of what he taught. I challenge anyone here who claims to be a Christian to justify ANY of this behavior by citing something in the New Testament that indicates that this is something Jesus would have approved of. I've got a ton of Bible cites that say otherwise, but please, justify your hatred of migrants by using your Bible. |
