You've got it wrong, but you're making the case that if mental health is the cause for mass shootings, there is nothing that can be done about it. If so, just eliminate the guns - if the guns aren't available, crazy people can't use them to kill other people. Problem solved.
It's the guns. It has always been the guns. There hasn't been a single mass shooting that hasn't involved a gun, and most of those involved AR-15 style semiautomatic rifles. Eliminate the rifle (that no civilian REALLY needs in the first place), you eliminate or at least significantly reduce the number of mass shootings. We tried it once, and it worked for 10 years; the Republicans refused to renew the law, and mass shooting events immediately started to increase.
It's the guns. Everything else is just an excuse to protect the guns.
As for Democrats loving to spend money... Gee, I guess that's why our debt increases every time the Republicans are in charge, and decreases when the Democrats come into power. I didn't realize it was possible to spend like crazy AND reduce your debt. Imagine that. |
