Nope, who can forget? Since that day, there have been over 900 mass shootings at K-12 schools in the U.S. For the most part, schools have learned what to do and what not to do except for Uvalde.
Cruz’s attack lasted less than four minutes and left 17 dead. Seven minutes after entering the building, he ditched the rifle in another stairwell and left the school, and attempted to blend in with the crowd of escaping students. Broward Sheriff's deputy school resource officer Scot Peterson was assigned to the school that day. He was later accused of retreating during the shooting while the victims were still under attack. Peterson was arrested in June 2019 and faced charges of neglect of a child, culpable negligence, and perjury. Yep, the school resource officer was alone and did retreat...but you have an entire command post that sat and watched and waited while all those children were killed one by one for what time period?? 45 minutes and an hour?? Don't say they are the same, not even close.
You keep saying that you should prevent crazy people from accessing a gun. You never say how exactly. Because you can't. There is no way to screen every individual and make an assumption about their mental health. |
