Just released documents (about 70 pages of text messages) have Perry clearly admitting that he is a racist and stating that he wanted to kill people. Abbot is trying to justify a pardon by saying that he should not have even been prosecuted under the TX stand-your-ground law, but it should be interesting to see what a parole board makes of his obvious hate speech and the fact that he admitted, on video, to raising and aiming his gun first.
Regardless, no governor should have the right to nullify a jury just because he doesn't like the verdict. |
