Re: Hard to stay healthy

Boy, it’s been such a crazy wet and cold winter. Going for a walk has been like dodging rain bullets, the dark clouds seem to come out of nowhere. Even the satellite weather’s been off. We left the house yesterday, had a dry, cloud-filled walk, only to have it pour within minutes of coming home. Great timing on that one!

I hear what you’re saying about health. It’s been very difficult with my husband’s autoimmune disease. Sometimes we do all the right things and still get extremely sick. He maintains an amazing attitude, in a Life is Beautiful Roberto Beningi fashion. We still have so much fun together with nature, working at maintaining healthy habits, and humor being huge ...just quality of everyday of life, and balance.

I feel so much better than I have in a long time. I felt a bit stuck in chronic pain with my spine for several years after my accident, and to feel that I can now get some relief (without resorting to drugs) is wonderful. And really it’s about the overall feeling that yes... I can learn new ways for pain management, and be open to new ideas from different sources, while heading in a direction of feeling healthier and more fit. It’s uplifting, and in some ways surprising to me. Yoga and meditation have been very grounding too. As my husband says, “I’ll take it.” :-)

With the garden, I appreciate the aphid tips and link. Thank you! One of my goals for the future is to have a vegetable garden, energy and time depending - doing some research and importantly starting small. Good to have goals. Wishing that my husband can join in one day.

I’m sure your friends very much appreciate that you’re there for them, and that you maintain a supportive, steady attitude. It means so much.

Steadiness is key. I like it !!
