my panties a bit with some retail therapy. EO is still fighting for the $200. However, she says lender will not budge on my invoice being more than $150. She is trying to work something out with the lender to take it out of messenger fees or refundable pad. Lender is being stickler for no deviations from the initial HUD-1. Her final est c/s and HUD-1 had $200 and buyer signed and stated to me he thought that was a deal for me to come all that way up to him. The thing is....if it was any other vendor....appraiser, credit reporting agency, Corelogic, county recorder's office....they would just pay it...no questions asked. There is no conversation with the county recorder's office....if they say you owe XYZ in recording fees....you pay it. Can you imagine trying to tell the County Recorder's office your fees are higher than our initial disclosures you need to change your fees/billing? Hysterical.
that said, I have pretty much resigned myself to taking the $50 cut and trying to make it up in other business. I have worked for this escrow for 7 years now and they have always paid me very well and usually within a week. It is a treasured business relationship and I guess I just have to suck it up.
It is just the principal of the thing. I guess the 'times they are a changin'. I will be checking initial disclosures with 'final' est c/s and est HUD-1 and try to head off any issues early on. No matter who the client.
Thanks for listening to me vent everyone.
