IMO, it would not have been your choice to turn it back. They said they would find another notary that would accommodate their request. Fine by me if they are not going to pay me for my services. I would have put it in writing with a cc to the title company on what transpired (professionally) and apologizing that we were not able to come to an agreement with their extra requests right before the signing appointment and understood that they decided to look for a notary that could accommodate that last minute additional request. BTW; it's is highly unlikely that they had a rate lock that was going to expire that exact day. End of month if for monthly/ commission goals. The borrower would most likely been affected very little. |
