At the beginning of the year I purchased a MFC Brother 8710DW. Within half a year I began having printing problems: black lines across the paper, toner smearing everywhere, specks of powder on the paper, etc. I kept thinking it was the toner cartridges I was using. I also bought a new genuine Brother drum (since mine apparently went out already). It got to the point I hated to change a cartridge. I never had so much trouble with a Brother printer before. I kept trying different toners, wasted a bunch of paper, spent hours cleaning the drum and toner cartridge, the inside of the printer...
After doing some research (reading other's reviews on various sites) I learned this model has fuser issues within the first year. I called Brother today and they will replace my printer with a refurbished one since I am still within the warranty. I am also going to buy another printer (different model) since I don't know the refurbished one will be better than the one I have. Hopefully you have a different model and it's just the one toner cartridge. Mine unfortunately was not! |
