Sounds like you were very professional in your handling of this situation and did let all parties immediately know that you were not accepting the assignment. The upside is they were upfront with you about the scope of work which is very commendable on their part. This sounds like it may have turned into a whole day event. As Signing Agent we have to take into account reasonable compensation and possible scheduling conflicts. It's okay to not accept all assignments...not harm no foul.
