I just caught up on the last few messages in that thread and it seems to me that dk was perfectly able to stick up for him/herself and handled it well.
Some very valuable advice, IMO, was added at the bottom by janCA in reference to the post/poster in question: "She tells it like it is, good or bad, and says what many are thinking. Don't take offense, learn. You will never make it in this business if your feelings get hurt from someone trying to tell you exactly what you need to know."
We deal with much worse out in the field between clients and signers, so I'd like to think we're all grownups here. And just because someone whips off a quick reply without taking the time to soften the edges, I'm fine with that, as long as their comments deal with the subject at hand and aren't just useless personal attacks. Just because someone doesn't say something nicely doesn't mean their words have no value.
Some of the best advice I ever got from this forum in my early years was delivered with the verbal equivalent of a wire brush. It would have been my loss if I took offense at the way it was said instead of taking the intent from the message and learning a valuable lesson.
