Well, this may be an issue of semantics that I suspect the promoters of "Notarize" would take issue with. They would claim that what they do remotely IS notarizing, and that the "personal appearance" is what is happening remotely. Of course, a great many of us have expressed disagreement with at the very least the process they're heavily promoting.
I think it's clear, though, that they're trying to make the NSA role extinct. It wouldn't surprise me to see them succeed, to some extent, but it will likely take a very long time before standards get established across the industry and before all lenders jump on board. |
