I post what I believe would be a great work idea for any of us who are interested....then take off for my signings.... and come back to all this... from people OUTSIDE of California no less! Ridiculous. I told you, this is not political.

As for the voter registration OPT OUT box, haven't seen it myself but was told by a friend whose wine worker proudly showed off his new DL ID card and CLAIMS he did not check the box.
Our Legislature instituted all this to provide ID for UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS (no matter what, they are NOT immigrants - immigrants have documentation) so that they could establish welfare, food stamps, and housing benefits - all they have to show DMV is rent receipts, PGE/Water bills to establish their UNDOCUMENTED residency in our state. As for the Voter Rolls .... it is the Secretary of States responsibility to arrange the ID verification for the upcoming Elections to make sure no non-US Citizen can vote.
In another lifetime I prepared responses for Clients to Government RFP's (Requests for Proposal) and also Unsolicited Proposals to Govt Agencies both Fed and State... I also worked on the Technical aspects of Military Proposals at their sites.
