As you like to say, what a load of hogwash.
First of all, I was referring to the RATE of incidents, not the raw number; that assumes per capita. As to your argument that the population is not known, we know the population of legal immigrants, and have a fairly good grasp on the number of illegals. Even if the latter is not entirely accurate, we also know is that the rate of violent crimes these populations commit is extremely low as compared to those committed by American citizens. I don't accept the argument that the crimes they commit are under-reported due to sanctuary cities; no one is hiding violent crimes in order to protect immigrants. If you have a problem with how the statistics are compiled take it up with the feds - they're the ones who compile and release them.
One of the many unfortunate results of the current administration is the demonization of immigrants, especially those who are not white. This is nothing more than a nod to white nationalism. We offer meaningless "thoughts and prayers" when an American commits mass murder, but demand immediate action when an immigrant commits a single crime. You see nothing wrong with this? |
