You don't get to call names and hurl personal insults, and then excuse it all by saying, "but I addressed your comments after I personally attacked you." It doesn't work that way. That kind of nonsense has no place in reasoned debate or conversation, and it shows a weakness in your argument by attempting to dehumanize the one you are arguing with.
Here's the deal - if you want to discuss thing rationally, that's fine. You can accept or reject what I have to say, and I reserve the right to treat your statements the same way, and we can both explain why. Attacking an idea or a concept is valid, but as soon as you start with the personal insults, the conversation is over. |
