Thanks for heads up on vermiculite. It's getting about 5 inches of rain by Tuesday and I noticed the bed has dropped about 3 inches, which is good. I will be adding coir at the top for moisture and top off with wood chips when planted. Ants are going into Dr Earth compost.
Current soil is lifeless. I planted in rows of Dr Earth last year and was wowed. Thus making my own soil in raised beds. Will be no til beds with mainly worm castings, home made compost, and Azomite rock dust with some innoculents in the future.
Promix looks good and similar. Google Drive and found it at a Walmart online for $3,063! Big blunder there. Otherwise medium priced for what you get.
Went to pick up Azomite today but they ordered granules instead of powder. No hurry. I'm in the rock dust vs bio-char corner.
Definitely mapping out square foot gardening and in some cases square inch gardening. Expensive and labor intensive project but will be worth it.
