I used to do loan signings in Spanish but stopped because I really didn't feel like it was fair to the borrowers. Sometimes they needed the documents to be explained more thoroughly and clearly than I could handle--and I'm not talking about the numbers, just generally the function of the document. Sure, I could set up appointments, indicate "firma y fecha" and such, but even when doing a loan signing in English it makes sense to give some little explanation of what each document is--(partly to put the signer at ease so they don't feel obligated to read every word). In fact, isn't there some talk about requiring us to have a script we go by? |
