It is called a codicil

and the reason an attorney should review it (produce it) is directly related to it being held up in court. It's kind of useless to have a document that will not hold up in court when you die. There is specific language that must be used, "...being of sound mind, ..." etc. and we don't know what it is. I do think people have the right to make up their own wills, but an addition or change (codicil) always draws extra legal attention...
