Hi! I am in Florida and we seem to only be getting odd balls at the end of the month when everyone is being pushed I treat my signings the same as I treat my accounting clients and my tax clients. If I get a confirmation and if my documents are not timely I can't do a timely job so I cancel. It's better to have loved and lost then never to have loved at all so to speak - this keeps my integrity and professionalism in tact. Seems notaries are now responsible for docs being complete, printed properly, picking up checks if money is owed (and being sure the amount is correct) as the borrower has three sets of numbers and three different CD's (really), etc. along with everything else we do. I need the option to contact the client if all is not correct and if I get partial docs 15 minutes after the closing should have started - I get offended - I am a professional (yes) but I am not a magician - I have a full set of Adobe but it is not my responsibility to change or correct your docs if they are not right. Anymore - I just have them call me back when everybody is ready to do business and you must give me time so I don't make more mistakes then the ones you made. Don't ever accuse me of not handling my job correctly when you don't. If I get one spouse ask me to remove certain docs from the set - that to me, is coercion. I don't remove or change anything even the order of how docs are presented. I say no more often than I used to. If you don't they walk on you. If borrower does not confirm with me - I also cancel. I do what I can to help people who appreciate me. More Frustration than I used to get too! Sorry that just had to come out. |
