As RON has been pushed completely by Big Tech, seems that most of the state laws I've seen have been written m/l by Big Tech and lobbied like crazy by them to completely clueless legislators who just 'presented as told', resulting in ALL liability for ANYTHING that goes wrong (now or in the future) falling squarely on the Notary. Platform has zero responsibility/liability...period.
And Big Tech ain't going nowhere until they've got all states on board--Big Tech's way.
Which is probably why Matt has, as his detractors call it, 'done a 180'. No, he hasn't. He's ONE guy with little money fighting Big Tech's millions of lobby-money! If nobody yowled the last time, CA Notaries would have had all the liability issues that Matt fought to eliminate. And, I, for one, think he's done one helluva job for CA notaries! The XYZ sure as heck DIDN'T.
Do I know Matt? No Do I think y'all are jumping on him without all the facts and thinking 'em thru? Yes
I think the man has been bedeviled with 'doubters' and has tried to fix a myriad of issues they've complained about.
