I'm not certain, but I think the original post may have meant can California notaries accept a digital driver license as ID, displayed by an official driver license app. California has a pilot project described at https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/ca-dmv-wallet/
Other states have similar projects, and it's always possible someone from another state might present a digital driver license in California (or my state, for that matter). If one of those was presented in Vermont, I wouldn't accept it. |
