The new law in Georgia requires more stringent voter verification requirements for absentee ballots, allows state officials to take over election boards and limits ballot drop boxes that make it easier for people to vote. The law allows any Georgian to make unlimited challenges to voter registrations, and, incredibly, makes it a misdemeanor crime for anyone to offer food and water to voters stuck in long lines to cast ballots.
So everyone is stuck on the food and water...Have you ever been offered a meal while voting? Is it necessary? Come prepared if you think you have long lines or make arrangements. Why is this even an issue? No one ever offered me food and water to vote, but in jury duty, I did get to watch movies and get popcorn, lol.
IMO, It all needs to be the same for all 50 states for everything from ID verification to getting a bottle of water and how many voting places you can go, how many days and make it uniform nationwide. it's all over the plav=ce, and places like CA you don't even need an ID! http://ballotpedia.org/Voter_ID_in_Georgia If you don't have to present an ID, it would seem you can vote as often as you like wherever, right? What am I missing here? |
