Nonsense. The reality is that the parents are desperate to get their kids to a place where they can have a better life, and are willing to take any risk to do so.
Consider this - for two centuries we've boasted to the world about how America is the greatest nation on earth, and how much better the quality of life is here. And the world listened, sending us immigrants like my grandparents who just wanted a chance for that better life they were told about.
And now, years later, we're still boasting about it but we're saying, "Wait a minute - why are you coming here? We don't want or need you here. Go away!"
Marketing 101: only promote products you want people to buy. You want them to stop coming? Stop telling them how great it is to live here. |
