Watching a news report on the mass shooting in Louisville, and it gets interrupted by breaking news report of ANOTHER mass shooting in DC, this time at a funeral for someone who died in yet another shooting.
So, just to review - to the LONG list of where Americans cannot safely go - high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, private schools, theaters, night clubs, parades, dance studios, music festivals, supermarkets, concerts, etc, etc, etc - we now add banks and funeral homes.
And NOTHING is being done - NOTHING!
I recently read something from right-wing dimwit Charlie Kirk who stated that the loss of a few lives was worth it if it protected the 2nd Amendment. I noted that Kirk didn't offer up his own body on the altar of the 2nd Amendment, nor did he offer up members of his own family or friends. I mean, if you believe THAT STRONGLY in the 2nd Amendment that people should be willing to die for it, you should be willing to put your own life on the line to defend it, right, Charlie? But no - other people should die so that Charlie's right to bear arms is never infringed. Just don't ask HIM to make a sacrifice, because it ain't gonna happen.
It's the guns. It has always been and always will be the guns. The ONLY common denominator in these incidents is the presence of a gun - it's not doors, it's not porn, it's not pot, it's not video games, it's not pronouns, it's not mental health. It's the guns. Remove them from the equation and you reduce, if not eliminate, the problem. How is this that difficult to see?
Oh, and just when you think you've hit the bottom of the stupidity barrel - KY law requires that the state take possession of the firearm used in this crime, and at a later date, AUCTION IT OFF! Can you imagine that auction??? Every nutjob in the country will be bidding....
