It’s difficult losing any patient, but devastating to lose their own. Before COVID, patient/nurse ratio was 3:1. Today it is 8:1. Her hubby won’t let her bring her day home, so she keeps it all pent up inside her. A couple of weeks ago with our visit, we were the first people she has literally opened up to. We told her that she is allowed to call us to scream, cry or simply talk. With mom’s Alzheimer’s, my release is usually in the shower, |
