“All in good time.” That’s a good motto to live by right now.
It’s wicked, ‘cause we’re super-social too, and it’s just...ugh. How fortunate you are to have such good, and understanding friends. I know what you mean about feeling like you just saw them yesterday. What a gift. I too was just left-off a visit-circuit, but too many people in the group traveling and gathering (and unmasked in homes), I just could not do it. My friend was super nice about it, but....
My husband’s Mom is 90 and in NY, and with his autoimmune disease (low ANA counts, T-cell counts not great) it’s like...when will he be able to travel to NY to see her? We used to go every summer. It was great. Big Italian family. Lots of love, food, extra-loud talking (which I call shouting, but in a good way!), hugging, kissing, etc. Just beautiful. Presently, he’s committed to talking (aka shouting - on speaker phone!) with her every day for an hour+. They can talk about nothing, anything- forever. It’s great! I joke that they don’t need a phone to talk, 3,000 miles has nothing on their lung capacity!
Yes, living on the Pacific Coast never ceases to keep me awestruck - by its power, beauty, and raw energy. |
